If you want to work as a licensed Phlebotomist in the state of California, you will need to obtain phlebotomy certification, which is the California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I certificate issued by the California Department of Public Health – Laboratory Field Services Division.

Bay Area Medical Academy is located at an approved NCPT testing site. The school schedules National exams 2-weeks after completing the course. National exams are only held on weekends at the Bay Area Medical Academy San Francisco Campus.
Bay Area Medical Academy also provides free assistance to students with the application process for obtaining California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I certificate.
Once you have your California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I certificate, you must keep your phlebotomist certification current.
You must renew your California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I certificate every two years.
