Our Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy program and Phlebotomy Technician course are approved for National Certification through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
Bay Area Medical Academy is a private institution approved to operate by the Bureau for Private Post-secondary Education (BPPE) due to meeting the minimum operating standards. ‘Approved to operate’ means compliance with state standards as set forth in the California Private Postsecondary Act of 2009 and Division 7.5 of Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations.
The Phlebotomy Technician program and the phlebotomy portion of our Medical Assisting with Phlebotomy Program are approved by the State of California Department of Health Services – Laboratory Field Services Division (LFS).

Our common vision of patient-centered medicine has yielded a close collaboration between institutions on curriculum development, externship opportunities, and community outreach. UCSF recognizes BAMA certifications as highly competitive evidence of training in Medical Assisting and we have a great partnership with BAMA’s career services team. We look forward to interviewing BAMA graduates for job openings during our regular employer spotlights and regularly place several BAMA graduates in roles such as Medical or Hospital Assistant in departments such as Primary Care, Family Medicine, and Positive Care 360 practices.
