Women are 50.3% of the population of California. We are key drivers of industry and innovation, leaders, and vital participants in essential workforce industries. That’s why we need to continue supporting – and increasing – investments in women across the state. But women face significant challenges, even after decades of progress, to their economic well-being. Women are essential to California’s globally competitive economy – our success is California’s success! Thanks to a California Commission of the Status of Women and Girls Grant, Bay Area Medical Academy will be investing in women through the 2023/2024 Women’s Recovery Response Grant because we all do better together. If you would like to receive funding for our Medical Assisting Program through this grant, please book a phone call to speak with us here. We’d love to hear from you!

UCSF Medical Center and the Bay Area Medical Academy (BAMA) share a passion for empowering healthcare professionals to be excellent providers of patient care services. Our common vision of patient-centered medicine has yielded a close collaboration between institutions on curriculum development, externship opportunities, and community outreach. UCSF recognizes BAMA certifications as highly competitive evidence of training in Medical Assisting and we have a great partnership with BAMA’s career services team. We look forward to interviewing BAMA graduates for job openings during our regular employer spotlights and regularly place several BAMA graduates in roles such as Medical or Hospital Assistant in departments such as Primary Care, Family Medicine, and Positive Care 360 practices.Saba Mirza, Recruiter, UCSF Medical Center
I feel so fortunate to have received the funding for my education at Bay Area Medical Academy. It enabled me to be trained, certified, and back in the workforce in less than nine months. As a San Francisco resident, voter, and tax-payer, it is my wish that this program continue to help displaced workers receive training and education for healthcare jobs. As a former high tech professional, I can certainly speak to technology’s values, but I know that there is no program or software tool out there that can provide compassion, support, and comfort to those who are ill and in need.Noelle M., BAMA Graduate
BAMA’s a great choice. You graduate a Nationally-Certified Medical Assistant. You are a Nationally-Certified Phlebotomist. You’re a Certified EKG Technician, and they will connect you to take the State board exam. Go to BAMA. You have the opportunity to just grow and move up and just keep going.Davina C., BAMA Medical Assisting Graduate
What I liked most about the medical assisting program is the hands-on learning. Mrs. Earby made it fun, and she told us about her real-life experience working as a medical assistant. I always looked forward to going to class. BAMA helped me reach my goal, and shaped me to be the best medical assistant I could be. I’m now an medical assistant at San Francisco Critical Care Medical Group.Suliana A. Feiloakitau, Medical Assisting Graduate
I just completed my second week as the lead lab assistant at Palo Alto Medical Center. I’ve got nothing but love for Career Services – thanks for everything.Nick P., Phlebotomy Technician Graduate
The knowledge and skills I learned at Bay Area Medical Academy have helped me tremendously with furthering my career. I obtained a position immediately upon completing the course. The staff was patient and helpful. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and was able to devote a lot of time with students individually. I would recommend Bay Area Medical Academy to anyone interested in breaking into healthcare.Nicholas L., BAMA Graduate
Before coming to Bay Area Medical Academy, I was a Project Manager with an internet company. The program was short enough to make it a great fit for me to start a new career in the medical field. I was very happy with the instructors for my Medical Assistant program. Everyone was friendly and willing to help out. Bay Area Medical Academy also helped with finding a job with their interview workshops, job feeds through email, as well as by having prospective employers come in to interview students. At the end of the program, I was able to get a job at the clinic with which I did my externship.William O., BAMA Graduate
